Saying The Words

Several weekends back I had the opportunity to witness a small town parade. As a cold October rain fell the boys and girls of the FFA and a ROTC color guard lead the way. It had politicians on stump wagon tours, local businesses ,old cars and trucks as well as some very old farm tractors. Somewhere in the last part of the pack I saw a truck with what appeared to be an American flag or two raised above the bed.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA As this truck came closer I felt an unexpected  wave of emotion. The rain was now a second thought yet me eyes did not know this. As the truck past I walked beside it for several feet and looked at the folks within in and said “Thank You”.  It felt good to finally be able to say the words.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

One of my very first posts was about this young man and the  The Cost of my freedom as an American. To those who are serving, have served and to the Families of those who also paid the cost: Thank You.

To those who are serving and are struggling please read this and make the call.

Memorial Day is supposed to be the day we here in America remember our fallen military men and women. It has became something less but I realize not everyone has had the experiences and the parenteral examples I have.
So to those Families of the Fallen and the Fallen themselves: Thank You.
