Nice title don’t you think? It just seems a little “busy” doesn’t it? Like it’s busy just to seem busy. How many of us live our life like that? We stay busy so it looks like we are doing something with our lives. I reflect on this often and cannot give you a “Three Step Program” or a “Twelve Ways to Save You From Yourself” type of thing but I feel each and everyone of us should learn to slow down. To breathe in and breathe out and to feel ones self breathe. To simply be.
I know, I know! You are thinking what I’m thinking: Slowing down means there this silence thing and most of us hate dead air. Why? Because we usually end up being introspective. Yes we become an adverb. No, not really but we usually start looking at the who,the what and the why of the person known as us. And if you are like me that usually is not very pretty.
Today was one of those days. I was looking around and there are tons of things that need to be done on the old homestead. Problem is it is still to cold outside to do what needs done there. Inside things need to be done but we don’t have the money to do them yet. So I sit. I think and I sit and think some more. After about an hour of this my head hurts real bad so I took the dog for a short walk. As I walk and breathe in of the fresh, cold winters air I feel some what better. Then I stop and let my herding dog do his best bloodhound impression. As the boy sniffs at the trail of who knows what I hear the sound of a hawk. I look up and try to track the sound but never find the hawk but I look up. Looking up is good after we look within and look down. Yep look up .
