Simple Things Revisited

Sitting on my porch this July night, as the ebb of night was claiming the tendrils of the fleeting day, another of  life’s simple things catch my eye. Fireflies. Yes fireflies. Hundreds  if not thousands of them, seeming to exploded out of the grass into the night like reverse shooting stars. Up they go gently riding the earths escaping heat waves into the cooling night.

Not very manly some may say, writing about bugs who’s hind quarters light up, but I am just thankful to have the time and space to observe one of many of life’s simple things.
